Sharukh Khan Vs Salman Khan - no comparision

Though comparisons between Bodyguard andRa.One box office collections is inevitable, you must remember that Bodyguard released on Eid day. Any movie being released on Eid is considered to be the best period for the film at the box office. However, Ra.One released on Diwali and that is normally considered the dullest period for films at the box office as most Hindus stay indoors and perform pooja. In that case, the day after Diwali (Thursday) and the coming weekend should work wonders for the film. 

Shah Rukh Khan's 'RA.One' released on Wednesday, amidst festive frenzy. And despite all the hoopla surrounding the release, the opening figures of the film didn't match up to the numbers of his arch-rival Salman Khan's Eid release, 'Bodyguard'.

It's another thing, however, that the superhero and special effects extravaganza in the former made new records of highest numbers at the BO during Diwali. However, trade experts are biding time till Monday to give their verdict, whether it is a hit or not, on the film directed by Anubhav Sinha.

At the onset, veteran trade analyst Amod Mehra states that there's no comparison between 'RA.One' and 'Bodyguard'. "Shah Rukh's film has about 800 screens more, and therefore, more shows. The ticket prices have been hiked and it's playing in 3D in many theatres," he points out, adding that as far as first day collections are concerned, "RA.One has lost in the opening numbers."

update: Shahrukh Khan has claimed that Ra One did the business of 25 crore Rupees on the box office on the first day.  So, Ra One has break the record of Salman Khan's Bodyguard movie for the most earning on the first day at Bollywood box office. According to SRK, Ra One earned 18.5 crore from India and 6 crore from abroad.
